I am happy to announce that my husband and I have a new member of our family! Camden John Kahlenberg was born on May 21st. He weighed in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces and is just the sweetest little baby boy! Needless to say I will be taking some time to enjoy our little peanut and to try to navigate through first-time-parenthood. I will be back in action this summer. I hope you have a great end of the school year and thanks for continuing to follow the blog and TPT store! I will still be posting (probably a lot of baby pictures) what I'm up to on instagram, so if you like seeing baby pictures in your feed be sure to follow me @primarypunch!
Before I went out on leave my 2nd graders had been working their way through my End of Year Extravaganza centers and activities. After we worked on the Schoolhouse Shake activity I realized they needed more practice with the language standards. I even did this activity with my 3rd graders and boy did they need some practice too. So, I put together a very similar activity with an ocean theme, Ocean Motion! The best part is that this activity is FREE and you can download it right now from my TPT store!!
I also included cards in this pack with QR codes since I typically begin my QR code countdown in the next few days and thought it would be good to get them re-aquainted with QR codes. I am so sad that I won't be able to do this with them this year. This was my favorite part of the end of the year last year. If you're looking for a fun way to countdown the last few days you can check out my Race into Summer pack by clicking on either picture below!
I hope you're enjoying the last few weeks with your kiddos!
Well, I am officially on maternity leave…but no baby yet! My doctor put me on maternity leave last week due to high blood pressure and swelling. Luckily, they have both gone down without me walking around all day but now I am getting even more impatient waiting for Baby K! To keep my mind off of the waiting I have been trying to finish up some resources that have been in the "half done" stage for a while now. I have had several requests for more games like my "What's My Shape" game for different grade levels which is played like Headbandz, so I decided to give it a new name and a makeover! Here are a few pictures of the game in action!
I renamed it "GeoBands" and also created 4 more games that are aligned to the geometry CCSS but work with different grades, all are played similarly to Headbandz. The 2nd grade edition of GeoBands (previously "what's my shape") is still available as a FREE download in the Primary Punch store and always will be.
I put the other new games into one big bundle pack. The GeoBands pack includes one game for each grade level 1st-5th and covers 2-D shapes, 3-D shapes, lines, angles and triangles! It's a perfect pack to differentiate for your kiddos! This game is always a favorite among mine! I wish I was there to play the 4th grade edition because I know it will be a hit! You can check out the bundle pack by clicking on either picture below.
