If I were Betsy Ross writing and Craftivity
We read a biography about Betsy Ross and then wrote a non-fiction piece about the information we learned. We then created our own version of the American Flag as if "We were Betsy Ross".
Flat Stanley projects have start pouring in and we created our own versions of the World Map to help understand the concept better. This is available on Super Teachers Worksheets.
We have read The Lorax, The Cat in the Hat and The Cat in the Hat Comes Back so far this week. For any iPad/iPhone/iPod users you can download Dr. Seuss e-books (they are about $3.99 a book) and they have music, sounds and are so much fun. I hook up my iPad to the projector (using an AV cord from Best Buy) for the SmartBoard and we read the book on the SmartBoard. The apps are made by OmBook and they look like this below. There is a wide selection on iTunes.
